About FIDIC

FIDIC (International Federation of Consulting Engineers) was established in Belgium in 1913, by member associations in many countries. FIDIC leads the international Consulting Engineer(CE) community made up of individual CEs and CE firms who adhere to the principles of professional independence and a impartial position in providing services in their diverse technological and professional fields.

The FIDIC headquarters and secretariat is in Geneva, Switzerland. It has more than 90 member associations, each registered in a different country (one member association in one country). The total number of the CE firms belonging to the member associations amounts to 60,000 world-wide.

FIDIC, which consist of an executive committee (EC) and more than 12 committees (e.g. publication and contract revision), supports the augmentation and expansion of proposal type CE business by coordinating and facilitating exchange and coopetation among member associations, and strengthening the linkages between CE firms and with related industries.

FIDIC and its member associations hold the General Assembly Meeting (GAM) accompanied by seminars and workshops, which are attended by representatives of many member associations, as well as the representatives from governments, the United Nations, international financial institutions and other organizations. FIDIC holds regular meetings with international financial institutions and UN agencies to propose the augmentation and expansion of CE business.
